福島県は、全国有数の医療機器生産県であり、また県立医科大学をはじめ日本大学工学部や福島大学、会津大学においても医療機器関連の研究開発が熱心に進められております。

このような特徴を活かし、県では、産学官の連携により医療機器関連分野の産業振興と集積を図るため、平成17年度から「うつくしま次世代医療産業集積プロジェクト」を実施しております。

これまで医療機器の研究開発や異業種企業に対する薬事法許認可支援等を進めてきたことで、県内における医療機器や同部分品の製造を開始する企業が増加してまいりました。

今後とも、産学官が一体となり、医療現場のニーズ収集から研究開発・事業化までシームレスな取組みを進め、世界に誇れる「医療機器設計・製造」ハブ拠点形成を目指してまいります。

Fukushima Prefecture is a major Japanese center for medical device production. The success of local institutions such as Fukushima University, Fukushima Medical University, and the University of Aizu has prompted Nihon University and others nationwide to pursue research and development within the prefecture. Inspired by the confidence that national institutions have placed in our people and our infrastructure, we launched the "Utsukushima Project" in 2005, to foster next-generation medical industries. As a result, more and more companies are performing research and development here. With assistance to obtain approval and licensing under the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, many are now engaged in the production of medical devices and components. Fukushima Prefecture's unique industry-government-university collaboration facilitates the seamless integration of needs assessment from the frontlines of medicine, through all stages of research and development, leading to the commercialization of products for better, healthier living.
